Toile Shena Ajuelos

NOVEMBRE 2014 :

Mission 24

The mission 24 of Deaf Children of Cambodia took place from April 29th to May 11th 2013.

The team included 2 ENT doctors, 4 audiologists, 1 interpreter, 2 engineers et 3 assistants.

It has examined, checked the hearing aids or fitted new devices to 412 deaf children in the schools of Phnom Penh Thmey, Chbar Ampov, Kompong Cham, Battambang et Siem Reap. 195 new hearing aids have been fitted to children.

Two points were more especially in the agenda of this 24th mission:

-      the establishment of a skills assessment of the speech therapists of each school;

-      the installation in Chbar Ampov of a laboratory for manufacturing silicone earmolds and the training of a technician. So for the first time the earmolds have been made on site, and the children of three of the five schools will not have to wait for the next mission to get their new earmolds.
