Mission 9
The integrated classes
of Don Euv and Sasardom receive 4 and 8 deaf pupils respectively. Krousar Thmey has opened 17 integrated classes since 2003, 16 for the deaf children and 1 for the blind children. These classes allow these disabled children to follow a schooling in a school coming under the authority of the State, Krousar Thmey undertaking the training of the specialized teacher. The team of ESC decided in agreement with Krousar Thmey to take care of the children of the schools of Don Euv and Sasardom which are not very far from Siem Reap (4 to 5 hours by road!).
The experiment is conclusive since the control carried out during this mission of November 2005 has shown that the hearing aids adapted in July are worn regularly and that the two teachers formed for these young deaf persons are effective.
